l was sweating and my spectacle fell and broke l decided to go to a cafe shop took a glass of milk then 2 cups of tea and eat, took a taxi back home. Sharing with friends, family and members of the institute was not easy. l had to talk with one councillor who assisted me in braking the news. Meanwhile she was looking for doctors who could explain to me the medical report and within two weeks l was in touch with HCG in Kenya/ India ‘Adding life to years’ yes – l have been added 3 years since the operation in India ‘Ahmedabad’ on May 23 2017. l was, very scared fear of unknown, l had requested friends and relatives just one thing ‘ to tell God l did not want to come back to Kenya in a confine.

In India l was received with joy and l handed my life and worries to doctors as l said to myself ‘LET BE’ … A CT Scan was taken and l was declared cancer free. Thanks to God! Doctor Hitesh Chavda explained to me about my condition, that he will do his best but operation will be 50, 50….At HCG Hospital at Ahmedabad. The whole team were giving me hope.

My assistant Aid SR Agnes looked for a Catholic priest’ of whom l shared all my worries. l gave him my will that he takes care of my sister Agnes who had accompanied me to India and that he may see that my remains reach Kenya safely. He kept quiet for 10 mins, l asked him why he was quite and looking at me he told me he was looking for death, but he could not see and that all could be well- this gave me more hope. The day came and l remember Dr Hitesh Chavda holding my hand and asking me to bless him and to pray for him. After 8 hours of operation, l found myself in HDU in the hands of able men and women beside my bed, and there a team of doctors came including Dr Hitesh Chavda and he confirmed to me that all went well and l that l was out of danger. After few days l was taken to the ward and l was handled with care and love. I was discharged and went to a hotel. The physiotherapist and staff from doctor’s office were my constant visitors. Sr Agnes joined the team as she took good care. This speeded my healing and after six weeks, l was put on road testing for 6 hours just to prove l was fit to travel back home. This is how the team works holistically.

The joy of coming home a life … The family, members of institute, friends met us at the Air port, with tears of joy.. since then l have been well and able to work and travel. l want to thank God for HCG team led by Dr Hitesh Chavda. Long live HCG to continue ‘ adding life to years’ for all who call on you.
