I am Prabhudas Harjivan Kurji from Nairobi, Kenya. I developed abdominal pain and jaundice before one year. I consulted local doctors in Nairobi and underwent series of tests. My CT scan and MRI showed that I had jaundice due to the blockage of my bile duct. I underwent endoscopy and stenting of bile duct to relieve my jaundice by a local doctor in Kenyatta Hospital, Nairobi. This procedure relieved my jaundice and I was well for about 8 months. Finally, I was advised to do a PET Scan which revealed a possibility of tumor in pancreas causing bile duct blockage and jaundice. Through a friend, I contacted Dr Hitesh Chavda in Ahmedabad and discussed my reports. He advised us to come to Ahmedabad for treatment. This was all in middle of Covid -19 pandemic. We reached Ahmedabad, and again underwent thorough checkup and Dr Chavda concluded that there was a tumor in the head of pancreas and I needed a major surgery called whipple operation. Everyone in the team was so warm, and made us feel safe and at peace. There was simply a wonderful atmosphere of togetherness at the hospital, and I knew it was where I wanted to go for treatment. Finally, the ten- hour long surgery was successful and I recovered well. I thank the entire team for taking great care of me during my stay in hospital and Ahmedabad.
