I am Devendra Patel, a retired bank officer from Ahmedabad. In January 2011, I had severe abdominal pain. I consulted many doctors for treatment, but my pain did not subside. Finally, I consulted Dr Hitesh Chavda who advised me to have several more tests and I was diagnosed to have a colon cancer. On 5th June 2011, I underwent a successful surgery for colon cancer and recovered in 15 days’ time . After the surgery I was advised to receive chemotherapy. On completion of my chemotherapy I was on regular check-up every three months with blood tests, x-rays, sonography and CT scans. In January 2016, on regular check-up, I was found to have a tumour in my liver. I consulted Dr Hitesh Chavda and had several tests including a PET Scan. The PET Scan showed a large tumour in my right side of liver. Dr Chavda explained us about the need for surgery for this liver tumour. On 3rd February 2016, I underwent a major operation to remove tumor from my liver. A portion of my right side liver was removed and the surgery lasted for five hours. I did not receive any blood transfusions and did not required ICU stay. I was discharged from the hospital after five days. I was just like a normal person after 10 days of my surgery. After one and half month of my surgery, I was advised to receive more chemotherapy doses, which I completed. Currently, I am on regular follow-up with Dr Chavda every three months with required tests and I am not receiving any medications.

For more than 10 years of my cancer diagnosis, I am cured of my disease and living a normal healthy life. I am thankful to Dr Hitesh Chavda and his entire team at Sterling Hospitals for a world-class Cancer care.
