I had severe pain in my abdomen in mid-February 2017. I was not able to eat or drink. I consulted my family physician and underwent few tests. He told me that there is a serious issue and I need to consult a gastroenterologist. Subsequently, I consulted one of the known gastroenterologist in Ahmedabad, who realized that the issue was serious and asked me to get admitted at Sterling Hospital, Ahmedabad. After admission, I underwent series of testes including a CT scan and was diagnosed to have a Duodenal diverticular perforation which is a very rare and a serious condition. The surgery for this condition was complex and required an expert hand. My gastroenterologist suggested name of Dr Hitesh Chavda. As he was not in town on that day – the case was discussed with him. Next day on reaching Ahmedabad, Dr Chavda directly rushed to Sterling hospital and performed my surgery which lasted for 6 to 7 hours. The surgery was successful and I recovered well and was discharged after 8 days from hospital. Dr Chavda was very meticulous about his work and his friendly nature boosted me a lot during my post-operative recovery period. In just two months I was back to normal and now leaving a heathy life.
