My name is Mary Auma, a Kenyan citizen aged 41 years. Five years ago, I developed chronic pain and received treatment from various hospitals in Kenya to try and manage the condition. Since then, I have undergone three surgical procedures which did not alleviate the pain. In December 2020, I was diagnosed with Lupus, a condition which affected many organs in my body. I was advised to seek further treatment in India and managed to travel to India on the 6th of April, 2021 where I was admitted at the Sterling Hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and, was Immediately attended to by Dr. Atul Patel, an infectious disease specialist and Dr. Hitesh Chavda, a gastrointestinal surgeon. After running several tests, I was diagnosed with intra-abdominal infection and pyomyositis. Dr. Hitesh Chavda successfully performed a surgical procedure to drain the abscess from my stomach and, Dr.Atul Patel was also able to accurately diagnose and treat the bacterial infection.
I travelled to India in a wheelchair as I could not stand up and walk and had to rely on my husband as my caregiver for support. Today, thanks to Dr. Hitesh Chavda and Dr. Atul Patel, I am able to rise on my feet again and walk without requiring any support. As I plan my trip back to Kenya, I am forever grateful to the professional team that attended to me during my stay at the Sterling Hospital. I was discharged from hospital on the 24th of April, 2021 after having received exceptional treatment from the doctors and the team that was taking care of me.
Asante sana!
( Thank You !!)
